 Universal Adhesive System

Developed from the world-renowned adhesion technology of ALL-BOND 2 comes the 5th
generation of adhesive bonding!

ONE-STEP is a light-cured single component bonding system which delivers astonishingly high bonds to dentin, enamel, composite, porcelain, and metals. Unlike many light-cured adhesive systems, ONE-STEP has a unique chemistry that polymerizes at an extremely low film thickness (15 microns) and cures at very low light levels. ONE-STEP is perfect for sealing dentin and for bonding to all dental surfaces. In fact, ONE-STEP creates adhesive strengths to enamel and dentin exceeding 27 MPa. Moreover, recent research has confirmed that ONE-STEP's bond strength to self-cure materials surpasses that of other single-bottle adhesives. ONE-STEP is particularly effective for indirect bonding of inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges, and posts.

ONLY ONE STEP BONDS TO SELF-CURED COMPOSITES

A new independent study from a university-based research group tested four popular single-bottle adhesives specifically for they ability to bond to both self-cured and light-cured composites. ONE STEP was the only bonding system to maintain very high bond strengths (>22 Mpa) to both light-cure and self-cured composites. All other single-bottle adhesives failed to maintain adequate adhesive strength to self-cured materials. Some of the most popular bonding agents available on the market today showed virtually zero bonding strength to self-cured composites and the same results might be expected with self-cured cements.

ONE-STEP penetrates dentin tubules - this eliminates post-operative sensitivity.

CLINICAL BENEFITS

Complete seal of dentin tubules

High bond strength to all dental surfaces

Excellent wetting agent for composite and luting cements.

Only single bottle adhesive that bonds to self-cure materials

Simple and fast technique

All-procedure versatility (direct and indirect procedures) due to its low film thickness (less than 15 microns)

FEATURES:

ADVANCED CHEMISTRY
ONE-STEP uses much of the same outstanding chemistry proven effective with ALL-BOND 2.

ONE-STEP combines Bisco's proprietary chemical compound BPDM and HEMA in an acetone solvent.

BPDM (BiPhenyl Dimethacrylate) features a double benzene ring structure which provides more freedom of rotation for higher monomer conversion rates and enhanced molecule contact to the bonded surface.

HEMA (Hydroxy Ethyl Methacrylate) enhances wetting of the dentin/enamel substrate and helps eliminate postoperative sensitivity.

BIS-GMA is added to create oxygen inhibited layer which allows better adaptation of composite restoratives or luting agents to the substrate.

These resins are carried in an acetone solvent that provides water-chasing properties. Moist dentin is a critical requirement for ensuring strong bonding between the dentin/composite interfaces. As a result of its hydrophilic properties, acetone pulls the resins and they completely penetrate dentin tubules.

CATALYST SYSTEM

In addition, ONE-STEP holds some very unique features, one of which is its catalyst system. In normal circumstances, it is very difficult to achieve a stable solution, containing acidic hydrophilic monomers and tertiary amine (a base) as a photo-initiator system. The primer solution would lose its bonding potency either when it loses its light-curability or when it loses its hydrophilicity as a result of the acid-base reaction. We developed a shelf-stable light-curable one-component ONE-STEP adhesive system which showed no deterioration in light-curability and dentin bonding strength.

HOW DOES ONE STEP DIFFER FROM ALL BOND 2?

ONE STEP combines primer and resin in a single bottle

ONE STEP requires 2-3 coats to achieve good penetration in the dentinal tubules (versus 5 coats with ALL BOND 2)

ONE STEP does not contain water (therefore a moist surface is crucial with ONE STEP)

ONE STEP is a light-cured system

ONE STEP cannot be used for bonded amalgam restorations unless combined with Resinomer (Bisco)

HOW DOES ONE STEP DIFFER FROM THE OTHER SINGLE-BOTTLE ADHESIVE SYSTEMS?

ONE STEP is the only system with BISCO patented BPDM (Biphenyl Dimethacrylate)

ONE STEP creates bond strengths to dentin in excess of 27 MPa

ONE STEP has a film thickness of only 13 microns (2 coats)

ONE STEP does not contain water, so that its shelf-life is stable for 2 years

ONE STEP is indicated for both direct and indirect procedures

ONE STEP is the only single-bottle adhesive that bonds to self-cure materials
