In an effort to save time and reduce complexity, many products have been introduced recently that combine the etching, priming and adhesive steps into two or even one component. Unfortunately, in many cases, the ease of use has come at the cost of reduced performance. To address the clinician’s desire to save time and reduce steps while still maintaining performance, Bisco has introduced TYRIAN SPE. In tests comparing TYRIAN SPE with traditional phosphoric acid etching, the sheer bond strengths were identical on both enamel and dentin. In addition, when ONE-STEP PLUS is used with TYRIAN SPE, it retains the ability to successfully bond light-cured, dual-cured and self-cured resins. The polymerizable monomers in TYRIAN-SPE are designed to occlude dentin tubules and reduce or eliminate post-operative sensitivity. TYRIAN SPE is a self-priming etchant with uncompromising performance.
